Cancelled games


All cancelled games must be played by March 22, once the fixture is agreed between the two teams and the alley is booked please could the home captain inform the Fixture Secretary of the new date.

Adverse weather

If forecasts are correct and we get adverse weather this evening then any teams with difficulties in travelling can cancel games (this also applies to Fridays fixtures). Please could home captains insure that your pub or club are aware of any cancellations, and that the Fixture Secretary is informed. Skittlers of the week – Open League w/c 21 Jan

Top score in the Open League was Alan Greet of Puddletown Wanderers at the Spitfire Club, Crossways with 72. The highest team score was 465 by Puddletown Wanderers in their 11-pins victory over Heathens. The highest hand was 80 by two teams, Wurzels of Section B at the Bulls Head and Hotshots of Section C at the Victoria Hotel.

Section A: BARMY ARMY – There were a few candidates from Section A this week, Patriots had a 1-pin victory away to Royal Oak Wanderers hitting 451, Jolly Green Giants hit 431 on alley three at the Trinity Club, but Barmy Army’s performance at the Wool British Legion wins the award, the Goldies outfit hit 453 which is the highest score hit at the Legion this season, and Army’s 17-pins victory over Breakaways put them joint top of Section A.
Section B: SWANKERS – Swankers hit 442 to beat Mrs Browns Boys by 10-pins at Tom Browns, 442 is the second highest score hit at Tom Browns this season.  
Section C: HOTSHOTS – Hotshots won by 29-pins hitting 428 against Colliton Flingers at Victoria Hotel, which included a hand of 80. It was Hotshots highest home score of the season.
Section D: CHALDEN CHUCKERS  – Chalden Chuckers beat Merrymen by 16-pins hitting 415 at the Frampton Arms.

Skittlers of the week – Ladies w/c 21 Jan

Top scores in the Ladies League were Jane Pullen of Colli-Cats at Dorchester Town Football Club and Denise Jones of Wonder Women with 58 on alley one at the Colliton Club. The highest team score was 383 by Woodpeckers at the Goldies. The highest hand was 64 by Crackerjacs at the Victoria Hotel. The highest stick up was 16 by Nikki Fowler of Vixens at Goldies.

Woodpeckers hit 383, their highest home score of the season at the Goldies as they beat Vixens by 3-pins.

Skittlers of the week – Open League w/c 14 Jan

Top score in the Open League was John Price of Frampton Fumblers with 76 at the Frampton Arms, Morerton. The highest team score was 464 by Section A leaders Skimmers in their 5-pins victory over Jolly Green Giants at the Bulls Head. The highest hand was 82 by Hartstoppers at the Victoria Hotel.

Section A: COLLITON WIDE BOYS – Colliton Wide Boys 10-pins victory knocked opponents Royal Oak Wanderers off of the top of Section A, Wide Boys hit 445 on alley two at the Colliton Club.   
Section B: WURZELS – Wurzels hit 442 away to Country Boys and won by 43-pins, it’s the highest score hit by a Section B side at the Frampton Arms this season.  
Section C: UNTOUCHABLES – Untouchables became only the second team to beat leaders Tom Brown Bullocks this season in Section C, winning by 28-pins and hitting 413, which is the Bladen outfits highest home score of the season.
Section D: FRAMPTON ROLLERS  – Frampton Rollers hit 414 which is the highest score hit at the Old Ship, Upwey this season as they beat Ship Wrecked by 14-pins.

Skittlers of the week – Ladies League w/c 14

Top score in the Ladies League was Sheila Cummins of Breezers with 68 at the Royal Oak, Bere Regis. The highest team score was 408 by Oakettes in their 22-pins victory over Breezers at the Royal Oak, Bere Regis, where both teams recorded hands of 64 which was the highest in the Ladies League. The highest stick up was 15, which was hit twice by Sheila Cummins.

Team performance of the week – WOODPECKERS

Woodpeckers hit 396 and won away by 26-pins against Westenders, at the Spitfire Club, Crossways. Woodpeckers managed to hit hands between 50 and 59 throughout the seven hands.

Skittlers of the week – Open League w/c 7 Jan

Top score in the Open League was Jordan Smith of Country Boys with 72 on alley two at the Colliton Club. The highest team score was 457, hit by both teams in the drawn game at the Spitfire Club between Puddletown Wanderers and Barmy Army, chasing 76 to win Wanderers anchor man Mike Thomson hit a 14 stick up to give his side a point. The highest hand was 79 by Section B leaders Essentials at Tom Browns.

Section A: JOLLY GREEN GIANTS – Jolly Green Giants hit their highest home score of the season, 414 as they beat Half Pints by 43.   
Section B: VIC REEVES – Vic Reeves won away to Yokels by 31-pins hitting 432.  
Section C: MAGPIE IMPS – Magpie Imps hit their highest home score of the season , 414 beating Untouchables by 29-pins.
Section D: SWAN ABBOTS   – Section D leaders Swan Abbots hit 434 which is their highest home score of the season beating Frampton Fumblers by 68-pins.

Top score in the Ladies League was Mel Gosney of Devils with 61 at Dorchester Town Football Club. The highest team score was 377 by Devils. The highest hand was 61 by Oakettes at Goldies. The highest stick up was 16 by Lou Brereton of Super Colli-Ders on alley two at the Colliton Club.

Team performance of the week: DEVILS

Devils hit 377 in their 51-pins victory over Vixens, 377 is the highest score hit at Dorchester Town Football club this season so far in the Ladies League

Sticker up Cup

The Sticker Up Cup takes place on Thursday 11 April at the Colliton Club from 7.30pm. Each team are allowed to enter one sticker up provided they are aged between 14 and 18. To enter please contact Terry Gosney the fixture secretary, this competition is free to enter.
