Skittlers of the week – Open League w/c 20 Jan

Top score in the Open League was Luke Gatehouse of Muckspreaders with 93, Luke’s 93 at the New Inn, West Knighton is the highest individual score of the season so far and his scores across the board were 17, 15, 14, 16, 9, 15, and 7. The highest team score was 458 by Section C leaders Wareham Legionaires at the Wareham Legion. Legionaires remain the only unbeaten team in all leagues this season. The highest hand was 79 hit by three teams, Essentials on alley two at the Colliton Club, Patriots at the Goldies and Colliton Chimps on alley two at the Colliton Club. The highest stick up was 17 hit by Luke Gatehouse and nine other players, Jason Hallett of Colliton Wide Boys on alley two at the Colliton Club, Graham Morey of Hartstoppers at Tom Browns, Anthony Swain of Steamers at the New Inn, West Knighton, Pete Cox of Colliton Chimps on alley two at the Colliton Club, Frank Brown of Colliton Rebels at Wareham Legion, Stan Hallett of Merrymen on alley one at the Trinity Club, Ken Claxton of Ship Wrecked at the Old Ship Inn, Upwey, Ollie Hurlstone of Chaldon Chuckers at Goldies and Nick Lorimer of Dribs ‘n’ Drabs at the Bulls Head.

Top score in the Open League was Lee Haime of Colliton Chimps with 85 at the Royal Oak, Bere Regis, this is the highest individual score in the Open League this season. Colliton Chimps hit the highest team score of the season with 517 and won by 104-pins at the Royal Oak, Bere Regis. The highest hand was 88 by Section A leaders Jolly Green Giants in their defeat by Breakaways at Wool Legion. The highest stick up was 18 hit by three players, Rich Spracklen of Breakaways at Wool Legion, Martin Haime of Colliton Imps on alley two at the Colliton Club and Alex Toms of Colliton Chimps at the Royal Oak, Bere Regis.

Skittlers of the week – Ladies League w/c 13 Jan

Top score in the Ladies League was Jen Sims of Oakettes with 71 at the Royal Oak, Bere Regis. This equals the highest ladies score of the season. Oakettes team score of 439 was the highest hit in the Ladies League this season and their hand of 77 was the highest of the week. The highest stick up of the week was also at the Oak and hit by three players, Jen Sims and Clare Clarke of Oakettes and Steph Legg of Easy Beats.

Sticker up Cup

The Sticker up Cup will be held on Thursday 30th April at the Colliton Club. The entry to this competition is free and each team can enter one sticker up provided they are aged between 14 an 18 years old. To enter please contact the league’s fixture secretary Terry Gosney by Friday 6th March.

Secretaries Shield

The Secretaries Shield will be held on Thursday April 9th at the Trinity Club. This is a free competition, to enter please either complete the entry form that was sent out regarding the Pairs Competition or contact the league’s fixture secretary Terry Gosney by Friday 6th March.

The Secretary or Captain of each team (or their nominated deputy) plus the committee is eligible to enter the Secretary’s Shield for which separate competitions will be held for men and ladies.

Ladies Pairs Competition

The Ladies Pairs Competition will be held on Tuesday 14th April at the Trinity Club. Each team from the Ladies League are allowed to enter up to five pairs at a cost of £3 per pair. All teams should have received an email with the entry details attached if you have not please contact Brian Newton. All entries must be sent to the league treasurer Philip Slade by Wednesday 1st April.

Open Pairs Competition

The Open Pairs Competition will be held on Friday 24th April with each team from the Open League and Ladies League allowed to enter up to FIVE pairs at a cost of £3 per pair. The competition will be held across eight alleys with two pairs from each alley going through to the finals which will be held on Thursday 7th May at the Colliton Club. Each team should have received an email with entry details, if your team has not had an email please contact Brian Newton. The closing date for entries is FRIDAY MARCH 6TH. No late entries will be accepted. Please note all entries must be sent to the league’s treasurer Philip Slade.
