Legionaires promoted from Section C

Wareham Legionaires have become the first team this season to clinch promotion and have know achieved back to back promotions after winning Section D last season. The Wareham outfit still remain unbeaten this season and Friday’s win over Colliton Flingers insured that they would be going up to Section B. Next week will see them crowned as champions, either without playing on Thursday if Magpie Imps lose or on Friday by avoiding defeat away to Villains.

Ladies League run in – Devils go 6 points clear

Oakettes defeat on Monday away to Vixens allowed Devils to take a 6 points lead at the top of the Ladies League although the leaders have played an extra game. With Vixens beating Oakettes and Crackerjacs also winning both teams have given themselves a chance of catching Oakettes for the runners up spot. With Devils yet to have their bye it could still come down to the last match of the season when they play away to Oakettes.

Skittlers of the week – Ladies League w/c 24 Feb

Top score in the Ladies League was Jen Sims of Oakettes with 61 on alley two at the Trinity Club. The highest team score was 378 by Trinity Mix Ups at the Spitfire Club. The highest hand was 60 by two teams Devils at Dorchester Town Football Club and Oakettes on alley two at the Trinity Club. The highest stick up was 15 by three players, Kelly Godden of Breezers on alley one at the Trinity Club, the other two came in the same match on alley two at the Trinity Club by Natasha Rolls of Vixens and Jen Sims of Oakettes.

Skittlers of the week – Open League w/c 17 Feb

Top score in the Open League was Andy Sharpe of Unpredictable Strimmers with 74 on alley one at the Trinity Club. The highest team score was 461 by Skimmers at the Royal Oak, Bere Regis. The highest hand was 76 by two teams, Alcotops at Dorchester Town Football Club and Puddletown Nomads at Goldies. The highest stick up was 18 by three players, Nick Heal of Half Pints at the Bulls Head, Nigel Skidmore of Hotshots on alley two the Colliton Club and Andy Sharpe of Unpredictable Strimmers.

Ladies League run in – Two horse race

With six rounds of fixtures left to play there are two teams out in front and both have led the Ladies League for much of the season. Currently Devils lead Oakettes by 4 pts but have played one more game as they are yet to have their bye. It could come down to the last match of the season when Oakettes host Devils at the Royal Oak, Bere Regis.

Skittlers of the week – Open League w/c 10 Feb

Top scores in the Open League were Matt Bennett of Essentials at the Spitfire Club, Crossways and Mark Slade of Half Pints at Tom Browns with 73. The highest team score was 486 by Essentials, and it was the joint Section A leaders that also notched the highest hand of the week with 82 at the Spitfire Club, Crossways. Both their totals were one better than Breakaways who sit on equal points with Essentials at the top of Section A, the Wool outfit hit 485 and had a hand of 81 at the Wool Legion. The highest stick up was 18 by three players Adam Woollard of Patriots at the Wool Legion, Tony Hewitt of Brewers Bees on alley two at the Trinity Club and Kevin Dredge of Plodders at the Goldies.
